Lincoln City chairman backs Chris Moyses and Grant Brown

Lincoln City chairman Bob Dorrian says stand-in management duo Chris Moyses and Grant Brown will get time to prove they can succeed Gary Simpson.

Director and coach Moyses and assistant boss Grant have replaced manager Simpson, who has been put on gardening leave for the foreseeable future.

Dorrian told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We are definitely not looking for another manager.

"We are going to give them some time. They could be a real surprise package."

The pair took training on Monday and will be in charge for Tuesday's Conference fixture against Altrincham at Sincil Bank.

Dorrian has faith in both men, adding: "Chris and Grant have been around this group of players for a long time.

"I know Chris has a great rapport with the players and is very well respected. Chris has got a lot of ideas on how we might go forward, as has Grant."

The Imps are 13th in the Conference table following Saturday's 3-3 draw with Forest Green Rovers and the board said they relieved Simpson of his duties because of concerns about the progress being made and performance levels.
