Federico Fernandez: Swansea defender ruled out for three weeks
- Published
Swansea City will be without Federico Fernandez for up to three weeks because of a calf injury.
The Argentina defender sat out the 2-1 win over Arsenal last weekend and now faces a further spell on the sidelines.
But there is better news over Wayne Routledge and Nathan Dyer, with both wingers set to return to training next week after groin strains.
Dwight Tiendalli, Jordi Amat and Leon Britton are also close to fitness after playing a practice match on Thursday.
The match against a Cardiff City XI ended goalless but Swansea manager Garry Monk felt it was a worthwhile run out.
"It was a good chance to give a few players some minutes," Monk told the Swansea website.
"It was important for the likes of Leon, Jordi and Dwight, who are coming back from injury, and also for some of the boys who haven't played as many minutes recently.
"During the international breaks, it's nice for the players that remain here to have a focus at the end of a week's training."
