Fleetwood Town have signed striker Martin Paterson from Huddersfield Town on loan until 3 January.

The 27-year-old Northern Ireland international previously worked with Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander during his five years at Burnley.

Paterson spent the end of last season at Bristol City and has made three substitute appearances for Huddersfield this term.

He is available for Fleetwood's League One game at Yeovil on Saturday.

Paterson moved to Huddersfield on a two-year deal in 2013 after rejecting a new deal at Burnley, but has made just 17 starts in his time at the Yorkshire club.

Fleetwood Town have also announced striker Jack Sowerby has joined from non-league side Squires Gate.

The 19-year-old had been on trial after scoring 20 goals in just 21 appearances for the North West Counties League Premier Division team this season.
