Danny Graham: Sunderland striker joins Wolves on loan

Danny Graham scored six goals in 18 appearances on loan at Middlesbrough during the second half of last season

Wolves have signed striker Danny Graham on loan from Premier League side Sunderland until 31 December.

The 29-year-old has joined the Championship club the day after forward Yannick Sagbo was recalled from his loan spell at Molineux by Hull City.

Graham has made only one appearance for Sunderland this season, in their 2-1 League Cup loss to Stoke in September.

"This is a good opportunity for me to try and play some regular football and get back to scoring goals," he said.

"Wolves is a good club which has done very well over the last year."

Graham started his career at Middlesbrough but came to prominence scoring 33 goals in 102 appearances for Carlisle, before netting 41 times in 98 outings for Watford.

That return earned him a £3.5m move to Swansea, where he scored 21 goals in 62 appearances prior to moving to Sunderland for £5m in January 2013.

But he failed to score for the Black Cats in the second half of that season and spent the whole of 2013-14 on loan at first Hull and then Middlesbrough.

Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett added on the club website: "We feel this is a very good move for us.

"He has the goalscoring record that we are looking for and experience of playing up front in the Championship.

"With our forward line he brings another dimension now with his experience and goalscoring record."
