Danny Graham: Hull City sign Sunderland striker on loan

Hull City have signed Sunderland striker Danny Graham on a season-long loan deal.

The 27-year-old joined the Black Cats from Swansea for £5m in January but failed to score in 13 appearances.

Graham started his career at Middlesbrough before spells at Carlisle, Watford and the Swans.

"I know I'm coming to a good club with a top manager, a fantastic stadium and some very good players," Graham told the club website.

"When the chance came to sign here on loan, I jumped at it. It's great to come to a club where everybody is on a high after winning promotion and I've only heard good things about this club.

"I'd spoken to the manager at Sunderland and been told that I wasn't part of the plans."

Tigers boss Steve Bruce will be hoping Graham can recapture the form that saw him score 12 goals in the Swans' debut season in the Premier League in 2011-12.

Bruce acknowledged earlier this week that signing a striker was a priority after his side gained promotion from the Championship despite having scored just 61 league goals in 46 games, less than any of the other teams in the top half of the table.

A move for Burnley's Charlie Austin fell through last week after the 24-year-old failed a medical and Celtic rejected a bid for Gary Hooper last month.

Graham is the sixth player to join the Tigers this summer after goalkeepers Allan McGregor and Steve Harper, defenders Maynor Figueroa and Curtis Davies and midfielder Ahmed Elmohamady.
