Paul Cox has insisted he has no intention of quitting as manager of League Two strugglers Mansfield Town.

The Stags have gone nine games without a victory following Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Conference South club Concord Rangers in the FA Cup first round.

Pressure has been mounting on Cox and the team were booed off at the end.

"Every year I've produced for this football club but for some people that's not good enough," the 42-year-old told BBC Radio Nottingham.

"We went on an 11-game (winless) run last year. This is the same scenario, but we haven't got the budget.

"People are asking me to pull rabbits out the hat. We've had to cut the cloth accordingly."

Cox's Mansfield record

Played: 175

Won: 78

Draws: 46

Lost: 51

Essex side Concord are 44 league places below Mansfield in English football's pyramid, but earned a replay when Jordan Chiedozie's stunning 30-yard strike cancelled out Danny Glozier's own goal.

The replay will take place on Tuesday, 25 November and Cox is confident he still has the support of chairman John Radford.

"The chairman has always backed me. We have a great relationship," Cox said.

"We've got to work hard with the youth. Just because we've had a bad run doesn't mean I'm a bad manager."
