Swansea City: Wilfried Bony will still be a target - Dion Dublin

Ex-England striker Dion Dublin says Swansea City's Wilfred Bony will continue to be a target for other clubs.

Bony has signed a one-year extension after been linked with a move away during the close season.

The Ivorian has scored five Premier League goals this season and Dublin believes clubs will continue to monitor his progress.

"Big clubs will be looking at him if he continues scoring goals," he said.

The 25-year-old joined for a club-record fee of £12m from Vitesse Arnhem in 2012 and scored 25 goals in his first season with the Welsh club.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham were all reported to be interested in Bony, who scored two goals for the Ivory Coast at the World Cup finals in Brazil.

The striker has signed a new deal with the Swans, which could keep him at the Premier League club until 2018.

Swansea manager Garry Monk admits speculation about Bony's future will not stop despite him signing a new contract.

Bony has scored five goals for Swansea this season with Sergio Aguero of Manchester City and Chelsea's summer signing Diego Costa topping the Premier League top scorers table.

But Bony has scored more goals this calendar year than any other striker in the Premier League and former Manchester United and Aston Villa player Dublin, believes he does not get the plaudits he deserves.

"He's very cool in front of goal," Dublin said.

"If Aguero or Costa scored some of the goals he'd scored we'd be seeing them time after time after time.

"Because he's playing for Swansea he's not getting the accolades I think he deserves."
