Irish Premiership: Warrenpoint Town 3-3 Dungannon Swifts

Warrenpoint Town stay six points adrift at the bottom of the Premiership after Ryan Harpur's late penalty earned Dungannon a draw in an entertaining basement battle at Milltown.

Two Andrew Mitchell goals twice put Dungannon ahead in the first half but both were cancelled out by Ciaran O'Connor and Daniel Hughes efforts.

A Hughes penalty then put Warrenpoint ahead on 67 as they looked set to win.

However, Harpur netted his penalty on 87 to deflate the home side.

The penalty was awarded after Warrenpoint's Liam Bagnall was adjudged to have hauled down Stefan Lavery in the box.

Mitchell put Dungannon ahead on 24 minutes after he cut inside Stephen Moan and fired to the net.

O'Connor levelled eight minutes later as he half-volleyed a Dermot McVeigh cross past Andy Coleman.

The Swifts were back in front on 37 minutes as Mitchell headed a Matthew Hazley corner to the net but the sides were back level on the stroke of half-time as Hughes volleyed home after Dungannon had failed to clear a Mark Hughes free-kick.

The second half was a tale of two penalties as Daniel Hughes netted on 67 after Swifts keeper Andy Coleman had brought down O'Connor and Harpur then slotted his spot-kick three minutes from time.

The draw keeps 11th-placed Dungannon six points clear of the bottom club.
