Millwall have appointed Nigel Gibbs as first-team coach.

The Lions, currently 20th in the Championship table, have brought in Gibbs to support boss Ian Holloway and assistant manager Marc Bircham.

Gibbs spent his entire playing career at Watford, making more than 450 appearances for the Hornets, and was later a coach at Vicarage Road.

More recently, the 49-year-old has coached at Reading and Leeds, working under Brian McDermott at both clubs.
