Partick Thistle defender Frederic Frans has committed his future to the Maryhill outfit

Partick Thistle defender Frederic Frans has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Firhill until the summer of 2016.

The 25-year-old Belgian centre back joined the Jags in the summer after eight years at Lierse in his homeland.

Frans, who has been injured in recent weeks, has played in four games for Partick, during which they have conceded just one goal.

His contract was due to expire at the start of next year.

Partick are currently ninth in the Scottish Premiership after their 4-0 win away to Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday.
