Plymouth Argyle captain Curtis Nelson will be out of action for three to four weeks with an elbow injury.

The 21-year-old was hurt in the closing stages of Saturday's 3-2 win at Northampton Town.

Scans have shown centre-back Nelson did not suffer a fracture and he does not require an operation.

"The elbow is badly swollen, and the swelling is in soft tissue around the joint," physio Paul Atkinson told the League Two club's website., external

"This impacts on the mobility and strength of the elbow, which he obviously needs.

"We will not be able to make a full assessment until the swelling has gone down, but there is no fracture and the prognosis at this stage is recovery will take three to four weeks."

Victory at Sixfields lifted Plymouth, for whom Nelson has started every league game this season, up to fifth in the table.
