Crewe Alexandra 3-1 Gillingham

  • Published

Crewe Alexandra moved out of the League One relegation places with victory over managerless Gillingham.

Crewe's Nicky Ajose opened the scoring from the spot after Gavin Hoyte brought down Uche Ikpeazu inside the box.

Harry Davis made it 2-0 with a bundled finish after Ajose's stabbed effort was saved by keeper Stuart Nelson.

Bradley Dack pulled a goal back, with the final touch on Cody McDonald's low ball across goal before Ikpeazu sealed the win with a fine run and finish.

Victory moves Crewe to 19th in the table, while Gillingham slip into the relegation places on goal difference.
