Liverpool have recalled winger Jordon Ibe from his season-long loan spell with Championship side Derby County.

The 19-year-old joined the Rams in August and scored five goals in 20 Championship games to help the Rams to second place in the table.

It had been thought he would be recalled after Saturday's derby with Nottingham Forest, but he may feature for the Reds at Aston Villa instead.

Derby will also be without midfielder John Eustace for the coming weeks.

Eustace has had surgery on a knee injury and the club are waiting to see how the operation went before putting a timescale on the 35-year-old's absence.

Head coach Steve McClaren said: "It's a big blow to lose John but we have George Thorne coming back and that is like a new signing."

Thorne has returned to training after a cruciate knee ligament injury.
