Cardiff City have signed Huddersfield right-back Lee Peltier on a deal until the summer of 2018, subject to international clearance.

The former Liverpool youth player and Terriers captain, 28, is manager Russell Slade's third signing of the January transfer window after left-back Scott Malone and striker Alex Revell.

Cardiff were beaten 2-1 by Reading in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.

"I'm looking for success and I think I can find that here," said Peltier., external

"The move came about quite quickly; my agent spoke to me early in the week and said Cardiff were interested and that made me want to talk to the club.

"I've worked under the gaffer [Russell Slade] before [at Yeovil] and he's asked me to come into the group and give it my all.

"I'm really good mates with Anthony Pilkington having played with him at Huddersfield. I also know Nicky Maynard, Craig Noone and Sean Morrison so there are a few familiar faces here.

"I like to think I'm an outgoing person and I say things as I see them, so I'm looking forward to coming in now and contributing.

"Hopefully I can help my team-mates as much as they can help me."

Peltier, who has also played for Leeds United and Leicester City, will wear the vacant number two shirt at Cardiff City Stadium.

South Korea international midfielder Kim Bo-Kyung has left the club by "mutual consent", while full-back John Brayford has joined Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee.

The Bluebirds face Derby County in the Championship in Cardiff on 31 January, followed by a trip to Sheffield Wednesday on 7 February - two teams above them in the table.
