Burton Albion have signed Dutch forward Abdenasser El Khayati on a contract until the end of the season.

El Khayati started his career at PSV Eindhoven and moves to the League Two promotion hopefuls from Kozakken Boys.

The 25-year-old has scored 10 goals in 10 games so far this season.

Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said: "He is a striker but can play on the wing. He is a creative player, somebody who sees a pass and who can provide for the other striker."

El Khayati had been on trial with Championship side Reading.

Hasselbaink added: "He is a player that a lot of people have been looking at in Holland.

"He came here to train with us for a few days. We liked him."
