Charlton Athletic fans question Roland Duchatelet strategy

Charlton Athletic supporters want to meet Belgian owner Roland Duchatelet and find out his long-term strategy for the Championship club.
The Addicks have had four managers since Duchatelet bought the club in January 2014, and are 18th in the table under current boss Guy Luzon.
"The aim is to engage Roland in conversation and find out what is going on," fan Steve Clarke told BBC London.
"He has resisted all attempts by us to have any dialogue."
The Charlton Athletic Supporters' Trust (CAS Trust), external have called a public meeting in Woolwich on Wednesday in an effort to form a united front.
"Roland rarely visits London or comes to The Valley," added Clarke.
"We are keen to speak to him and also gauge fans' views.
"Some think what is going on is OK but others are very extreme in their views as to things we should be doing to try to change things."
When Duchatelet took over the Addicks last year he added the south-east London side to a network of clubs around Europe.
The 68-year-old also owns Belgian Pro League side Standard Liege, Spanish club AD Alcorcon and German outfit Carl Zeiss Jena, while his son Roderick is president of Hungarian side Ujpest.
Duchatelet sacked popular manager Chris Powell soon after his arrival and two of his successors - Jose Riga and the incumbent Luzon - have previously had stints in charge at Standard.
Charlton's transfer policy has also been altered since Duchatelet's takeover; since the start of the January 2013 transfer window they have made nine loan or permanent signings from Standard, and a further two from Ujpest.
The Addicks are currently six points above the relegation zone, having one just won of their last 14 league games.
"The club are run as part of a network, with Standard Liege being the biggest name. I'm not entirely sure that is a system that works," said Clarke.
"We haven't got ridiculous ambitions and are not expecting to win the Premier League. But we do expect stability and alongside that some ambition and a logical plan of how the club could work."
The CAS Trust hope to have an opportunity to meet Duchatelet and voice their concerns.
"The ideal would be for Roland to come to London and arrange a fans' meeting," said Clarke.
"It would be quite a big occasion where he could explain what his plan is, give us the detail and allow questions. It would have to be carefully managed.
"He hasn't got a reputation for doing that at his other clubs.
"As a Trust we'd be happy to meet with him and put forward fans' views. We're happy to go to Belgium if necessary and do whatever to meet him."
Standard Liege fans have previously held demonstrations against Duchatelet's ownership of the club and Clarke says the CAS Trust have spoken to counterparts in Belgium.
"The guys at Liege are pretty desperate too," he added.
"Their reactions are extreme - I don't think Charlton fans will be doing that.
"It's not as though we are all being sacrificed for the great Standard Liege. Everyone is fed up."
