Peterborough United midfielder Jermaine Anderson will miss the rest of the season with a toe injury.

The 18-year-old has played 27 times this season, but will be absent for Posh's attempt at breaking into the League One play-off places.

"Jermaine is going to be out for the season," boss Darren Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"He needs an operation on his toe. It was something that wasn't picked up earlier in the season."

He added: "He's had a scan and needs an operation. It's a real blow to him and us and he'll be out for four months."
