Onome Sodje's stoppage-time goal gave struggling Nuneaton victory over high-flying Macclesfield.

His neat finish from 12 yards a minute into injury time moved Nuneaton up a place to third-from-bottom.

Rob Ogleby fired wide early on for the visitors while Andy Taylor headed over and Macc keeper Rhys Taylor made saves to deny Ogleby and James Armson.

Danny Whitaker and Waide Fairhurst had Macclesfield's best efforts either side of the half-time break.

Macclesfield drop to fourth in the Conference, seven points off leaders Barnet, while Nuneaton are seven points from safety with seven games to play.

On-loan Nuneaton goalkeeper Max Crocombe is still to concede a goal for Boro, having now kept five successive clean sheets since arriving on 20 February from League Two side Oxford United.

Unbeaten now in six matches, Liam Daish's side have lifted themselves nine points clear of bottom club Telford.
