Truro City striker Barry Hayles could miss the rest of the season after breaking his hand.

The 42-year-old former Fulham, Leicester City and Plymouth Argyle striker missed Saturday's 2-1 win at Slough Town.

"He's fractured three bones in his hand, he's got to have it in a full cast so it'll be six weeks out," manager Steve Tully told BBC Cornwall.

"It's a sad end because he's had a good season and made a really good impact."

Hayles has scored nine goals for City this season having returned to the non-league club last summer.

In Hayles' absence, former Plymouth youngster Isaac Vassell scored for the first time since 20 December.

He got both goals in the win at Slough, which keeps Truro fourth in the Southern Premier League, five points above the team in fifth.

"I'm delighted for Isaac because his effort and work rate sometimes doesn't give him the goals that he deserves, and today he could have had four or five," added Tully.

"His pace was a real threat in behind and he took his chances."
