Wales captain Ashley Williams has reassured Swansea City fans he wants to end his career at the Liberty Stadium.

Williams was linked with Arsenal and Liverpool but signed a three-year contract extension in July 2014.

The 30-year-old, who will win his 50th Wales cap against Israel on Saturday, has told boss Garry Monk he does not want to ever leave the Swans.

"I can't see myself playing for anyone else to be perfectly honest," he said.

Williams initially joined Swansea on loan from Stockport County in March 2008 before the move was made permanent in a £400,000 deal the same year.

He has played a crucial role in guiding the Swans out of the Championship and into the Premier League and has established himself as a Wales regular and national team captain.

Sunderland bid £4m for the centre-back last summer, which was turned down by Swansea and Williams ended speculation surrounding his future by extending his contract.

"I'm very comfortable here in the city, I love the club. I know it, the way it works and it knows me," Williams added.

"And I don't have any other thoughts of any other team in the Premier League to be honest

"All I care about is doing the best for this team."
