Rangers are a 'good option' for Haris Vuckic

On-loan Haris Vuckic says extending his stay with Rangers would be a "good option" should he leave Newcastle.
The 22-year-old midfielder insisted that a morning newspaper suggesting he wanted to quit the Magpies was wrong.
Vuckic, capped once for Slovenia, is under contract with the English Premier League club until summer 2016.
"I respect both clubs and we'll see what's going to happen in the summer," he said. "I just want to focus on doing well for Rangers."
Vuckic has made 18 appearances for Newcastle since signing from Domzale in 2009 but has already been farmed out to Cardiff City and Rotherham United before his latest loan.
St James' Park boss John Carver sent the Slovenian to Ibrox, along with four others, after telling him he was not in his plans.
And he is the only one of the quintet to make any impact since moving north, scoring six goals in 13 appearances for the Glasgow side - five in the last five games.
"I'm happy here, playing good and scoring goals," added Vuckic. "I want to play first-team football and in the summer we will see what is the best option for me."
Stuart McCall took over as interim manager at Ibrox last month and a run of three consecutive victories has taken Rangers up to second place in the Championship, overtaking Hibernian.
"When I came here the dressing room was a little bit down because of the situation in the past but now it's all good," added Vuckic.
"New staff came and there is new enthusiasm and motivation. Players are fighting for places in the team, looking for recognition for playing well."
McCall understands why Vuckic would be reticent to look beyond the end of the season and is pleased with the contribution made by the attacking midfielder.
"He has been misquoted somewhere along the line," said the manager.
"Haris is fully focused on doing his best for this club because that's who he is playing for.
"He's still got a year at Newcastle United, which is a fantastic football club and it would be disrespectful for him, which he hasn't, to talk about what's going to go on next season.
"He's enjoying his time here and he is playing ever so well for us."
