Scotland's Rachel Corsie is disappointed there will be no Great Britain women's football team at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

The Football Association's proposal to field a team in Brazil failed to get support from the other home nations.

Scots Kim Little, Ifeoma Dieke and Jane Ross were in the Team GB squad at London 2012.

"It's a shame because it's something that other national teams enjoy and look forward to," said Corsie.

"But, it's just the way it is being part of Team GB. At the end of the day it is discussed at a much higher level than us and we just have to get on with our day job."

Corsie reached 75 caps for her country as Scotland were held to a 1-1 draw against Australia at the Falkirk Stadium on Thursday.

Little and Corsie are now international and club team-mates

The visitors' Laura Alleyway broke the deadlock minutes after Little had her penalty saved, but Jane Ross drew Anna Signeul's side level in the friendly international.

"Australia are in a good position, a good team," Corsie told BBC Scotland.

"Obviously that's their last preparation before going to the World Cup so we knew it would be a tough game.

"It was very physical but it was a good result for us."

Corsie recently moved to the United States after being signed by Seattle Reign at the end of January, the National Women's Soccer League club Little has been playing with since 2013.

"I've been out there for two weeks playing with the team now and I'm really enjoying it," added Corsie.

"Training-wise it's a high standard and a high tempo and obviously I hope that can improve my game and then I can bring that back to the national team.

"It's nice to be back here and play another 90 minutes before the season starts on Sunday.

"It's always nice to come back and it's a pleasing result, one we can build on."
