Wrexham players must 'ignore' manager hunt, says Louis Moult

Wrexham striker Louis Moult has urged his team-mates to concentrate on matters on the pitch as the club searches for a new manager.

The Conference side are searching for a successor to Kevin Wilkin, who was sacked in March.

"We've got to ignore it to a certain extent, we're football players and we've got to try and get on with the job regardless," Moult said.

"Hopefully the manager comes in and we can have a good go at it next season."

The Welsh club will be conducting interviews this week for the vacant managerial post.

Wrexham captain Dean Keates and current caretaker boss Carl Darlington have both distanced themselves from taking the job on a permanent basis.

Saturday's 3-0 win over Braintree, in which Moult scored twice to take his season tally to 22 goals, kept Wrexham in 11th place - an unaccustomed position for a club that is usually in the promotion mix.

"It's been frustrating for everyone but we're in it together," Moult added.

"We've all got to stick together - which we have done, which is pleasing - and we have to go again.

"The season's not finished, we need to finish on a high first and foremost and... finish the season unbeaten if we can."

Wrexham go to Aldershot on Tuesday night and then finish their season away to Telford on 25 April.
