Celtic lifted the Scottish Premiership title after a comprehensive victory over Inverness CT

Celtic players paid tribute to Scottish Football Writers' Player of the Year Craig Gordon as they lifted the Premiership title.

Stefan Scepovic scored a double, with Stefan Johansen, Leigh Griffiths and Kris Commons adding goals to round off the season with a 5-0 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Celtic captain Scott Brown led the tributes to their goalkeeper.

"He's one of the big successes for us," he told BBC Scotland.

Celtic won the league having conceded only 17 goals, the lowest in the top flight since Rangers in 1918-19.

"Stevie Woods (Celtic's goalkeeping coach) has done yet another great job there finding Craigy," added Brown.

"We all knew how good he was and everybody was saying he was going to be injured and he wouldn't last, but Craigy's shown yet again he can play 50 or 60 games this season and he's been unbelievable."

Ronny Deila's side made it to the last 32 of the Europa League, but the club's real ambition lies in making their mark in the Champions League.

Brown said: "We need to be the most consistent team in the league and we've managed to do that for the last four or five years and hopefully we can continue doing that.

"We need to have a good pre-season and get into the Champions League."

Gordon told BBC Scotland during the title celebrations that he "couldn't ask for very much more".

He said:"To top it off I think that's us got the best goals against record, a 97-year record or something like that.

"I was very close (to quitting) but thankfully I turned it around and to come back and taste this again, it's incredible. It's a great day all round, I just don't want it to end, it's brilliant.

"It was difficult coming in to such a big club but he's (Deila) been unbelievable all season, he's stuck to what he wanted us to do.

"Once we got the first few months under our belts and got to know exactly what he was wanting we've really seen a strong team come together."

"We turned up for the game today and I think the fans enjoyed it. When I won the award (PFA Player of the Year) it could quite easily have been Craig. He's had such a great season. It's difficult to fill Fraser's (Forster) shoes but he's done it brilliantly.

"I've been working hard, this is my first full season with this many games. In Norway it is maybe half of the games. It's been difficult with that many games but I've found the best way for me to improve as a player.

"I was sure Ronny was going to be a success here from day one. I had him for three years at Stromsgodset, I knew he was good enough to be at the top international level so I was never worried about it. The mentality of the Norwegians is quite the same as the Scottish."

"It feels great," said midfielder Stuart Armstrong. "It's the first season we're here and we've won something which is a really nice feeling. It's been a long time since we've got a bit of silverware but I think we're more pleased with how we've fitted in the team and done well.

"I think there's a lot to learn. We both know that and we're both looking forward to the challenge and working hard and getting a good start next season."

Former Dundee United team-mate Gary Mackay-Steven, who moved to Celtic in January with Armstrong, added: "It's a little bit different, you don't realise how big a club it is until you actually join and you're here day in, day out. We're relishing that, we're relishing the pressure of having to win every game.

"We've enjoyed every minute. To come here in January, hit the ground running and contribute, and we feel we've done that."
