Gary Roberts: Chesterfield reject Portsmouth bid for winger

Gary Roberts helped Chesterfield to the League Two title in 2013-14

Chesterfield have turned down a bid from League Two side Portsmouth for winger Gary Roberts.

Roberts, 31, has scored 17 goals in 74 league appearances for the Spireites since joining from Swindon in June 2013.

Pompey are now managed by Paul Cook, who signed Roberts for Chesterfield and played with him at Accrington Stanley.

Roberts has also previously played for Crewe, Ipswich, Huddersfield and Swindon.
