Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says Wales are the "biggest threat" to their attempts to win their Euro 2016 qualifying group ahead of their clash on Friday.

Group B leaders Belgium are ahead of second-placed Wales on goal difference.

With Wales two points clear of Israel in third and six ahead of top seeds Bosnia-Hercegovina in fifth, Courtois considers them Belgium's main rivals.

"I think they are the closest to us," he said.

"They are the team with the biggest quality together with Bosnia.

"Bosnia are a bit behind us so I think at this moment Wales are the biggest threat, and we have to try to win the game."

Wales drew 0-0 with Belgium in Brussels in November last year, withstanding long periods of pressure to claim a precious point.

Courtois was in goal for Belgium on that occasion and, although his side were dominant, the Chelsea goalkeeper was called into action to deny Gareth Bale.

The Real Madrid forward will win his 50th Wales cap against Belgium, though Courtois has warned his team-mates not to concentrate entirely on Bale.

"I think he is maybe their biggest player but I think Wales has a very good team that knows how to put a block together, how to defend well and not give us chances," Courtois added.

"I think they will look to counter-attack and really hurt the space at the back.

"I think it's an important match for us to getting closer to qualifying.

"Whoever wins this game will be a step closer to going to France."
