Swansea City: James Beattie appointed first-team coach

Former England striker James Beattie has been appointed first-team coach at Swansea City.
The 37-year-old played alongside Swans manager Garry Monk at Southampton.
He will share first-team coaching duties with Kristian O'Leary and Alan Curtis, and will be responsible for coaching the forwards.
"James... will be given specific responsibility to work on a technical level with our attacking players," Monk told the club's website.
Beattie made more than 200 appearances for Southampton and played five times for England.

After retiring, he spent 16 months as Accrington manager, having initially been a player-coach at the Lancashire club.
Stanley finished 15th in League Two in the 2013-14 season and Beattie left the Crown Ground by mutual consent in September 2014.
He spent a week with the Swans shadowing Monk in January 2015.
"I've known James for a long time," added Monk.
"He is intelligent, has a great knowledge of the game from his experiences as a player, coach and manager; plus he thinks about the game in the same way as myself."
