Ross County assistant Billy Dodds welcomed Darren Holden

Darren Holden has swapped one Victoria Park for another by signing for Ross County following his release by Hartlepool United.

The 21-year-old South African left-back has signed a two-year contract with the Scottish Premiership club.

Holden, who came through the youth ranks at Hartlepool, made 11 appearances for the League Two side last season.

But he has not featured since Ronnie Moore took over as manager in December.

Holden, who made his first-team debut in 2011, played 61 times for Hartlepool.

He is County manager Jim McIntyre's fifth summer signing following the arrival of Queen of the South midfielder Ian McShane, Partick Thistle goalkeeper Scott Fox and Dundee United forwards Brian Graham and Michael Gardyne.
