Colchester United: David Fox decides to leave League One club

Midfielder David Fox has decided to leave Colchester United so he can return to a club in the north west.

The 31-year-old Staffordshire-born former Manchester United trainee made 33 U's appearances last season, helping Tony Humes's side avoid relegation from League One on the final day.

"David's family are settled in the north west," said Humes., external

"We did talk about a contract but unfortunately we couldn't quite come to an agreement."

Humes added he hoped to find a replacement shortly for former Blackpool and Norwich midfielder Fox, who has made 215 career league appearances.
