Ross County sign Foster, Davies and Robertson

Ross County have added to their defensive options with the signings of Richard Foster, Andrew Davies and Chris Robertson.

Centre-back Davies, 30, will be made captain when he completes the move from Bradford City.

Former Aberdeen full-back Foster, 29, was recently released by Rangers, while Robertson, 28, arrives from Port Vale.

"I'm delighted to add the experience that Andrew, Chris and Ricky bring," said manager Jim McIntyre.

All three players have agreed two-year deals with the Scottish Premiership's most northerly club.

Davies, who made 34 appearances for Bradford last season, as the subject of a £1m move to Southampton from Middlesbrough in 2007 before later moving to Stoke City.

Dundee-born Robertson has spent his entire career in England and lists Preston and Torquay among his previous employers.

Former Scotland Under-21 international Foster made his Aberdeen debut in 2003.

Prior to joining Bristol City in 2012, he spent a season on loan at Rangers and he returned to the Glasgow club in 2013.

"After losing Paul Quinn to Aberdeen we knew we had to strengthen in the centre-half position so to bring in two good centre-halves like Andrew Davies and Chris Robertson is very pleasing," McIntyre told the Ross County website.

"Having worked with Richard Foster before, I know what a good player he is. He is also at a good age and has played at some big clubs so I'm confident he will do very well for us.

"Andrew Davies played in the Premier League and the Championship and has been the subject of some very big transfers so comes with a great pedigree."
