League One side Wigan Athletic have signed Donervon Daniels from West Bromwich Albion on a three-year deal.

The 21-year-old had spells on loan at Blackpool and Aberdeen last season and was out of contract at the Hawthorns.

Daniels, who joined the Baggies youth set up from Reading in 2009, progressed through the age groups at the Premier League side, but failed to make an appearance for the first team.

"He's a powerful player who adds great competition," said boss Gary Caldwell.

"There were several clubs looking to sign him and we are delighted he has chosen us."

Daniels joins Richard O'Donnell, David Perkins and Craig Morgan as new arrivals for Wigan ahead of next season.
