Jersey to host Sutton United in friendly match at Springfield

Jersey finished seventh at the Island Games on home soil after losing their final group game to the Isle of Man

Jersey will face National League South side Sutton United in a pre-season friendly at Springfield.

The island side, who missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the Island Games earlier this month, will host Sutton on Saturday 18 July.

It is the first of two games for the island side against English opposition this summer.

Jersey travel to Isthmian League Division One North side Thamesmead Town on 1 August in their other game.

"We are all looking forward to Sutton United coming over," Jersey manager Jimmy Reilly told the Jersey FA website. , external

"As a team we are really looking forward to playing a side that compete in the National League.

"It's a great time to visit Jersey following an incredible Island Games."
