Pre-season friendly: Torquay United 1-3 Newport County

Former England captain Terry Butcher was appointed Newport County manager in April 2015

Newport County secured their third win of pre-season with a 3-1 win away at National League side Torquay United.

Scott Barrow's free-kick gave Newport a second minute lead before Angus MacDonald's deflected shot beat Joe Day to bring Torquay level.

Scott Boden restored Newport's lead nine minutes before the break and he scored a second early in the second half to secure victory.

Terry Butcher's side are away to Eastleigh on Tuesday, 21 July.
