Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke has signed a new contract with the newly promoted League Two club.

Clarke, who led Rovers back into the Football League at the first attempt following relegation in 2014, has penned an improved 12-month rolling deal reports BBC Radio Bristol.

He joined Rovers in the summer of 2013, as assistant to manager John Ward, before becoming boss in March 2014.

"Bristol Rovers is a great club with great supporters" Clarke said.

"I'm looking forward to building on to the success we had last season," he told the club website., external

"There was never any question of me not agreeing to sign a new contract, we just needed a little bit of time to iron out all of the details."
