Steven Berghuis: Forward becomes Watford's 10th summer signing
- Published
Watford have made their 10th signing of the summer by recruiting Dutch forward Steven Berghuis from AZ Alkmaar.
The 23-year-old agreed personal terms with Watford last week but the transfer was held up while the clubs negotiated a fee, reportedly close to £4.6m.
He has signed a four-year deal with the Premier League newcomers.
Berghuis, who can also play on the wing, scored 11 goals in 22 league appearances last season as AZ finished third in the Eredivisie.
He was called up to the Netherlands squad for their Euro 2016 qualifier against Latvia last month but has yet to earn a senior cap.
The move takes the Hornets' summer signings into double figures after Jose Manuel Jurado, Miguel Britos, Sebastian Prodl, Giedrius Arlauskis, Matej Vydra, Jose Holebas, Etienne Capoue, Valon Behrami and Allan Nyom all penned permanent deals at Vicarage Road.
