Nottingham Forest midfielder Andy Reid is back in first-team training after 11 months out but is not expected to be ready to start the season.

Reid, 33, has not played since suffering a groin injury in the draw against Derby in September 2014.

Boss Dougie Freedman said Reid is not match fit but will be available to play for the Under-21 side in two weeks.

Freedman told BBC Radio Nottingham: "He is a quality player and it will be a huge boost to get him back."

Forest begin the Championship campaign away against Brighton on Friday night.
