Legia Warsaw awarded 3-0 win after player hit by stone

Legia Warsaw have been awarded a 3-0 victory in their Europa League match away to FK Kukesi that was abandoned after one of their players was hit by a stone thrown from the crowd.

Midfielder Ondrej Duda was carried off the pitch after being hit early in the second half with his side 2-1 up.

Albanian side Kukesi will have to play their next Uefa match behind closed doors and have been fined £49,160.

The two teams play the second leg of the tie on 6 August in Poland.

Legia's away fans have also been charged with throwing objects during the abandoned match.

Duda had his head bandaged and changed his bloodied shirt in anticipation of the restart after the incident.

The 20-year-old Slovakia international, who has been linked with a move to Premier League side Southampton,, external came on as a half-time substitute in his side's 2-0 league win over Gornik Leczna on Sunday.
