Swansea City have re-signed German goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel on a two-year deal.

The 36-year-old was released by the club in May, but returns amid other goalkeeping moves involving the Swans.

David Cornell left at the end of 2014-15 for Oldham, Oliver Davies has joined Kilmarnock on loan while Kristoffer Nordfeldt has arrived from Heerenveen.

"It's fantastic to be back at Swansea - this is where I want to be. This is a special club," said Tremmel.

"I had other options from top-flight clubs in Germany and England, but Swansea is my environment with my people.

"I know what Swansea is all about, and it's great to be part of the club. I've experienced the biggest achievement of my career here in winning the 2013 League Cup."

Tremmel has made 52 appearances for the club since first joining the Swans in 2011.
