Complete team performance - Pellegrini

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says his players are "hungrier and angrier" after the disappointment of conceding the league title last season.

Pellegrini's side finished second behind Premier League winners Chelsea in 2014-15, eight points off the pace.

Speaking after his side beat the Blues 3-0 at home on Sunday, the Chilean told BBC Sport: "Maybe what happened last season was a good experience.

"These players are hungry and angry. Now they want to win every game."

City restricted Chelsea to few chances and once Sergio Aguero gave them the lead with just over half an hour played, they never looked like losing.

In the second half Vincent Kompany headed in a David Silva corner and midfielder Fernandinho thumped past Asmir Begovic from the edge of the box to secure three points.

"Today we made a complete game," Pellegrini said.

"It is impossible to dominate against Chelsea but in their best moments they created just one chance to score. We played in the way I like, to always try to score more. It was a great performance."
