Ross County manager Jim McIntyre aims to bolster his attacking options before the transfer window closes next week.

"We've made a few enquiries about different players," McIntyre told BBC Scotland.

"I want to try and bring in another striker. We've actively made phone calls on that.

"We've only got three strikers. Ideally you want two for each position. You're not always going to have them fit at the one time."

Strikers Craig Curran and Liam Boyce have started the season strongly, with three goals for Curran and Boyce on four so far, while summer signing Brian Graham is yet to get off the mark.

The Dingwall side have amassed seven points from their opening five league fixtures, a vast improvement on last season.

"When we came in the door we had no points after five games so certainly we spoke about the need to get off to a better start and not be playing catch up," explained McIntyre.

"We've managed to do that. I would describe it as a steady start, not spectacular, and if we can manage to get a good result on Saturday then that adds to that. It's a decent start.

Graham was one of 12 signings made over a busy summer for the Staggies' management team.

"I think we've made good additions", continued McIntyre. "The new players that have arrived have settled in really well but it is early days in the season. The squad is stronger than last season there's no doubt about that.

"We've had a good week so far and want to make sure we go into the international break with a positive result."

Dundee United travel to the Highlands on Saturday, with the chance to draw level on points with their hosts.

"We know they're a strong outfit and have good players that can hurt you on their day," said McIntyre. "The games against each other last season were quite close, with the odd goal in it so I expect another tight match."

Rafa De Vita concedes there is more to come from him as he looks to replicate the form he showed during County's winning run at the end of last season.

"I've not started the way I finished last season," said the midfielder. "Last season I was more involved in most of the opportunities we were creating in games.

"I want to get back to that. It's still early in the season so there's plenty of time to get that right."
