Mickey Demetriou: Cambridge sign Shrewsbury left-back

Mickey Demetriou made over 100 appearances for Kidderminster Harriers prior to joining Shrewsbury in June 2014

Cambridge United have signed Shrewsbury Town left-back Mickey Demetriou on a six-month loan deal.

The 24-year-old has made 49 appearances for the Shrews, helping them win promotion to League One last season.

BBC Radio Shropshire understands that Demetriou was offered a permanent deal at the Abbey Stadium this summer, but turned it down.

Prior to joining Shrewsbury, Demetriou made more than 100 appearances in the Conference for Kidderminster Harriers.
