Derby spending no gamble - Clement

Manager Paul Clement has insisted Derby County are making good progress despite a winless start to the season.

The Rams have drawn four of their six games this term - with the only defeats coming against Leeds in the league and Portsmouth in the League Cup.

Clement said: "I don't think we're that far away. I don't think we need to make drastic changes; we have a good group.

"Everyone can see some of our football in spells has been very exciting and we are creating lots of chances."

The Rams return to Championship action on Saturday following the international break with an away game against promoted Preston North End.

Clement added: "I am sure the first win is not far away and when that happens I am sure we will go a positive run.

"We don't look vulnerable at the back. It is just about fine margins so we have to hone on in the details now.

"We have a good week of training and the players are in good spirits."
