Shrewsbury Town have signed midfielder Sullay Kaikai on a four-month loan deal from Premier League side Crystal Palace.

Kaikai, 20, began his career as a trainee with Palace and spent part of last season with Cambridge United.

"He's a talented boy. He plays off the left-hand side, he plays up front and he can play as a number ten," manager Micky Mellon told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"He gives us the options that we will need as we go along."

After making 30 appearances for Cambridge last season, Kaikai said he was drawn to Shrewsbury by Mellon's style of play.

"I was talking to the manager, who sold it to me, and they play attractive football and the system suits me," said Kaikai.

"The way they play and the formation suits me and the manager said he will let me express myself, which is key to a player like me."
