Manchester City have signed midfielder Luke Brattan on a free transfer and have loaned him to Championship side Bolton until 3 January.

The 25-year-old was available after his contract with Australian A-League side Brisbane Roar expired.

The Hull-born midfielder moved to Australia as a youngster and has represented them at Under-20 level.

Brattan has joined a Wanderers side who are bottom of the table and he could make his debut at Preston on Saturday.
