Torquay United have signed Kidderminster's Aman Verma and West Bromwich Albion's Andre Wright on loan.

Midfielder Verma, 28, will stay at Plainmoor until 2 January, while striker Wright has a one-month deal.

Wright spent the first part of this season on loan at Kidderminster, for whom he scored one goal in 12 games.

Meanwhile central-defender Nathan Smith has had his loan spell from League One side Port Vale extended until the end of the season.

"They want to win, they want to prove people wrong and they're both characters that I want to work with," said Torquay manager Kevin Nicholson.

"I think they'll be big for us over these next few weeks."

Verma is a former team-mate of Nicholson, with the pair having played for Harriers together last season.

He has also spent time at Darlington, Kettering, Stockport County and Maltese side Floriana and has scored two goals in 14 games for Kidderminster this season, the last coming in a 2-2 draw against Torquay in September.

"He's exactly the kind of character and kind of attitude that I want in the building," Nicholson told BBC Sport.

"Ability-wise, he's an athlete, he's big, he's strong, but he's also very good on the ball and when we get in the opposition's half and we want to get the ball down and play - he's certainly got that in his locker.

"Andre brings something that we've not really got at the moment, particularly with Tyrone Marsh being out, which is that pace and threat in behind, so it's a chance for him to come here, get involved in the first team and play a few games."
