Benik Afobe: Wolves striker will rediscover form - Jackett

Benik Afobe had loan spells at clubs including Huddersfield Town and MK Dons before joining Wolves

Wolves striker Benik Afobe is working hard to rediscover his goalscoring form, says head coach Kenny Jackett.

The 22-year-old former Arsenal and MK Dons forward has not found the net for the Championship club since 18 October.

But Jackett, who saw Wolves turn down three bids for Afobe from Premier League Norwich City in August, is not too concerned.

"Ben's been a big player for us and is working hard to prove himself and get back to his top form," said Jackett.

Afobe's prolific form started during last season's five-month loan spell with the Dons, for whom he scored 19 times in 30 appearances.

He hit the ground running at Molineux after signing in January this year, netting 13 goals in 21 games as Wolves missed the play-offs on goal difference.

The goals have dried up after scoring three times in his first four games of this season, but Jackett is confident that Afobe will start finding the back of the net again if his teammates can give him more assistance.

"It's up to us to provide him with a service and him to work his way out of it," Jackett told BBC WM. "His capabilities are strong, through the middle and with little defensive responsibility. Whether that's him playing up front or him playing slightly behind Nouha Dicko or Adam Le Fondre - he's produced throughout his career in both roles."
