Scotland moved three points clear of Iceland in Euro 2017 qualifying group 1

Scotland's Jennifer Beattie said they showed their quality in the 10-0 rout of Macedonia at St Mirren Park.

Beattie was on the scoresheet as Anna Signeul's side made it four wins out of four in the Euro 2017 qualifiers.

"One of the main things for us was to raise our standard of performance," the utility player told BBC Scotland.

"We feel like we were getting points on the board but not showing our quality. Today scoring 10 goals shows that, so we're really pleased."

Jane Ross led the scoring with four, while Jo Love also completed her hat-trick.

Hayley Lauder and Lisa Evans also scored as Scotland increased their lead at the top of Group 1 to three points.

Lauder, who scored her ninth goal for Scotland, said: "We won 4-1 over there, but we had to rectify the fact we never moved the ball quick enough and today I think we were well worth 10 goals.

"We're trying to grow the game here in Scotland as well as get to the European championships, but I think we're doing that well, we've got lots of different role models and we're playing good football.

"It's just all about getting to Euro 2017."

It was the first time Sweden-born coach Signeul had led her side to double figures.

She said: "They love playing with one another and just love playing football, so that's why they keep trying and keep trying and they love to score also."
