David Healy's Linfield earned three wins and a draw in December

Linfield's resurgence has been emphasised by David Healy being named the NI Football Writers manager of the month for December.

After a difficult start to his Windsor Park reign, Healy enjoyed a much happier December as the Blues earned three wins and a draw.

"November was tough but we were able to respond in December," said Healy.

"The players were asked a lot of hard questions by myself and they responded well. I'm pleased for them."

A 1-0 victory over Coleraine on 5 December ended a run of four straight defeats for the Blues and while they were held 1-1 by Ballinamallard a week later, wins over Ballymena United and Glentoran completed a successful month.

"And we started January with a good win over Crusaders, so hopefully we can carry on from there," added the Linfield manager.
