Truro City hope to complete the signing of former Plymouth Argyle defender Aaron Bentley.

The 20-year-old was released by Argyle earlier this month, having made three appearances last season after coming through the club's academy system.

"We've sort of sorted a deal out for him so hopefully he'll be signed up next week," manager Steve Tully said.

Truro won 1-0 at St Alban's City in the National League South on Saturday, moving them into the play-off places.

Isaac Vassell scored the only goal, but as well as the news about Bentley, Tully admitted he also needs attacking reinforcements.

"Cody Cooke may have broken a rib so that will be a big miss for us, so we'll look attacking-wise, maybe another centre forward," he told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"With Matt Wright injured we need cover for him. You can never have too many players and if the chairman lets me bring in more players, the more the merrier."
