Neil Warnock named Rotherham manager until end of season

Neil Warnock has led Sheffield United and Queens Park Rangers to the Premier League

Former Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock has been appointed Rotherham manager until the end of the season.

Warnock, 67, once played for the Millers and has been out of work since leaving his role as Queens Park Rangers' temporary manager in December.

He replaces Neil Redfearn, who became the shortest-serving boss in Rotherham history when he was sacked on Monday.

United are currently 22nd in the Championship, having lost eight of their past 12 league matches.

Redfearn lasted just four months in charge of the South Yorkshire club.

Warnock was manager at nearby Sheffield United for eight years, taking them to the Premier League in 2006 before resigning when they were relegated the following season.

He has also managed Leeds United and Huddersfield Town as well as having two stints as head coach of Crystal Palace.
